Why you should join the Trust

Wednesday, 8 September 2010

It’s an age old question and not something that can be quantified easily in terms of a product or even a service but below we have detailed some of the advantages of being a Trust member and why we think you should join us in working together for the greater good of Swansea City Football Club.
A wide range of discounts at local retail outlets. We are continually working to bring improved offers and we have had reports of several members getting their membership fee back in one transaction through a savings. Biggest saving to date? £73 on window blinds. In addition, we hear of one member saving £20 on an MOT and it was even possible to effectively recoup your membership fee celebrating a Swans win in the pub!

We are currently in negotiation with several companies to extend these discounts and we hope to add several exciting offers before the start of the 2010/11 season.

Access to a whole host of social events some of which may become ‘members only’ in the future.
· The annual awards dinner – which annually attracts hundreds of Swans Fans
· The annual ten pin bowling event is still as popular as ever as is the Fans

Forums put on at the Liberty Stadium and varies outlaying areas throughout our catchment area

The Trust are instrumental in many events which benefit the football club including
· The Open Day in the Summer’s of 2006 and 2007
· Four Family Days which saw 12,000 youngsters attend the Liberty Stadium.

Fans of the Future – still very much top of our agenda with the Club winning a
Family Excellence Award

The Ivor Allchurch statue that stands proudly outside the Liberty Stadium is a direct result of funds raised by the Trust and in 2008 we added the Robbie James Bust.

The commemorative box sets which were produced to celebrate the end of an era were Trust led and raised a vast amount of money for the Trust, the club and local charities.

The Trust play an extremely active role in the day to day running of the Football Club through our Supporter Director. He is consulted on most decisions taken by the football club and passes back the views of the fans with an ultimate aim to increasing the satisfaction of the Supporter. Decisions are voted on by the club board and items discussed previously have included

Constant feedback regards the whole matchday experience from catering through stadium rules and appearance of stadium

On going discussions regarding a fully operational supporters bar

In addition your Trust Board communicates with you via our website at swanstrust.com, via a regular e-newsletter and a regular printed newsletter. Additionally, all adult members are entitled to a vote at our annual election process where you select the people who will represent you on the Trust Board. All adult members are also entitled to stand for election to the board themselves.

We feel that the cost of membership is fantastic value for money and the higher the membership level the more representative we become of the fan base as a whole.

Earlier achievements include playing a major role in getting rid of asset strippers and galvanising the supporters so that we all raised a substantial amount to invest into our club when many had given up the ghost, this is on-going and the Trust are in it for the long haul, the greater our numbers the louder our voice.

Please consider joining/re-joining as together we can make a difference. Click on the banner to your left to join the Trust!
