A season ticket holder in East Stand ,formerly a North Bank veteran having watched my first match against Charlton (old 2nd Division) in 1956.

It`s my second year on the Trust Board serving on the Social Events Committee, this year taking over as Chair from Gwyn Johns, a hard act to follow. Can be found on match days in the Riverside Bar, handing out flyers for Trust Social Events.

My all time favourite player is “Rommo” –only joking ! It`s got to be the great legend Ivor Allchurch “The Golden Boy” One of the greatest inside forwards of all time. It`s fantastic that the fans through the Trust have raised over £18000 for a bronze statute of Ivor to be erected shortly outside the new stadium.

My favourite Swans moment was beating Hull 4-2 so avoiding Conference football. We would not be playing in this Division, or Stadium without that great hatrick from “Tommo” to keep us up. That match even beats the great 1964 FA Cup run which took us on to the semi-final match which we lost against Preston at Villa Park, after leading at half time-only 45 minutes away from Wembley.

The worst Swans moment was away at Southend when Petty had sacked 8 of the first team. All the players, except for Bound, who was going to Oxford, turned out without being paid ,and after the game threw their jerseys into the crowd. It was a very emotional day and should never be forgotten.

If I wasn`t a fan I would have definitely lost out on a rollercoaster ride of adventure, thrills and heartache, in following the only team that I love. I would have become a sad person taking up some bizarre hobbies such as trainspotting or stamp collecting, or even being an avid Saturday shopper accompanying my wife and her credit cards around town. Thanks for the Jacks.
